"Desperate Housewives" Inspires Soundtrack CD Featuring a Stellar Line-Up
of Female Artists; Shania Twain's ``Shoes'' Set as Premiere Single

    BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 23, 2005--Bree, Susan, Gabrielle, Edie,
Lynette and the denizens of Wisteria Lane are looking a lot less desperate these days. ABC's
"Desperate Housewives" has emerged as one of the year's most honored new series,
racking an up a stunning 15 Emmy nominations. Now, Hollywood Records is set to release a CD
of music inspired by the series with a line-up of sensational female singers. The "Desperate
Housewives" CD arrives in stores September 20, featuring the premiere single/video
    "Shoes" by superstar Shania Twain.

Produced by Mutt Lange and performed by Shania, "Shoes" is a droll look at love,
comparing men to footwear (some fit, some don't). In addition to "Shoes," the CD
features an extraordinary line-up of award-winning and critically acclaimed performers, many
interpreting classic hits from the past. The line-up of artists and songs on the "Desperate
    Housewives" soundtrack are as follows:

She Daisy, "God Bless the American Housewife"
    Shania Twain, "Shoes"
    Anna Nalick, "Band of Gold"
    Liz Phair, "Mother's Little Helper"
    Indigo Girls, "Mrs. Robinson"
    Martina McBride, "Harper Valley PTA"
Lee Ann Rimes, "Running Out of Time"
    Joss Stone, "Treat Me Right"
Sara Evans, "One's on the Way"
    Macy Gray, "Boom Boom"
Gloria Estefan, "Young Hearts Run Free"
    Idina Menzel, "Damsel in Distress"
k.d. lang, "Dreams of the Everyday Housewife"
    Danny Elfman, Opening Theme

Buena Vista Music Group Chairman, Bob Cavallo, said, "We are delighted to have the
opportunity to work with Mark Cherry and Mitchell Leib on the 'Desperate Housewives' soundtrack.
The music truly captures the soul of the show, and the album is a must-have for 'Housewives' fans."

"Desperate Housewives" premiered last fall and became an instant hit. Starring Teri Hatcher,
Marcia Cross, Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman and Nicollette Sheridan, the show blends wicked comedy
and dark suburban drama, taking prime time to new levels of deliciously bad behavior. "Desperate
Housewives" picked up Emmy nods for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing, and
Outstanding Acting nominations for three of the stars. The Emmy Awards will be presented on September
18, and the new season of "Desperate Housewives" premieres on ABC September 25.
